‘Tahitian Vanilla’ is a hybrid orchid that is a cross between Vanilla planifolia and Vanilla odorata. It is a climbing vine that grows up to 15 feet in length and will grow on a tree or trellis for support. Vanilla x tahitensis has zig-zag stems and narrow heart-shaped leaves with pointed tips and a smooth, glossy surface. Yellow-green flowers bloom in the summer, followed by bunches of bean-like pods known for their unique flavor and aroma that are widely used in baking and perfumery.
