Abyssinian Bananas are enormous herbsthat provide a lush tropical aethesthic to your garden or in a pot. Fast-growing and remarkably tolerant of relatively small containers but gets biggest when planted in the ground in a sheltered moist position.
Please note, these will likely havesome level of damage in transit but are such fast growers you won’t ever look back.

Light Requirements: Full Sun – Part Day Sun.

Moisture & Soil Requirements: Prefers constant, evenly moist soil with good drainage in warm seasons – never soggy soil. Water when the first few centimetres of soil are dry.

Growth & Nutrients:Huge herbaceous leaves growing from a central point. Up to 8m tall and wide. Lives for years until it flowers and dies.Suits large gardens. Does best when sheltered from the wind as leaves are easily torn. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser for containers from the start of spring each year to autumn when growth slows down.

Temperature, Humidity & Ambient requirements: Prefers warm humid environments inside but can deal with most home environments. Grows well outdoors in frost-free northern NZ
