These multicolored, upright, tubular flowers have deep, red outsides with bright yellow centers. Spigelia ‘Apple Slices’ is slightly more compact than the Little Redhead variety. It blooms in early summer. The bright colors and tubular shape attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Plant Patented.

Spigelia ‘Apple Slices’ can tolerate different varieties of light, but does best in part sun. It does require rich, moist, but well-drained soil. This plant is deer and rabbit resistant. There is a possibility that it self-sows. It is a native cultivar as Spigelia marilandica is native to the Eastern United States. This eclectic plant could be grown along paths or would look great in a container!
