Ajuga, or “Bugleweed,” may be known for its colorful foliage, but there are few darker and more dramatic than ‘Fierce Falcon’. Part of the FEATHERED FRIENDS collection, Ajuga ‘Fierce Falcon’ spreads by rhizomes into a dark, glossy ground cover that can easily suppress weeds. Its dark purple foliage looks black in certain lights and is dotted with cobalt flower spikes in spring.

Ajuga ‘Fierce Falcon’ bugleweed is adaptable to many soil conditions, although it needs somedrainage to grow. It thrives in part to full shade, and must have afternoon shade in the hot South. ‘Fierce Falcon’ is generally deer and rabbit-resistant, and evergreen in mild winter climates.
