We found this specimen of Western US native shrub in Utah in 2019 on Hell’s Backbone Ridge in open, rocky areas and the edges of woodlands. Cream flowers and bright green leaves. Golden fall color; dried blooms persist in winter.
We are unsure of the species at this time but would venture to say it could be Holodiscus microphyllus var. microphyllus.
