Santolina virens, or Green Santolina, has bright green foliage with yellow button-like flowers. Santolina virens is a small, semi-woody perennial with aromatic foliage. Also called Lavender Cotton, it is easily shaped and often used for edging pathways or outlining in knot gardens. Prune after blooming and pinch regularly to maintain its shape and prevent it from becoming woody.

Santolina virens prefers full sun and average to dry soil that is well-drained. It is tolerant of heat, drought and coastal conditions.
