Cimicifuga ‘Chocoholic’ is a cultivar of native Cimicifuga (Actaea) racemosa, Black Snakeroot or Bugbane, which grows over much of the eastern half of North America. It is most often found in moist, deciduous woodlands with rich soil.
Cimicifuga racemosa ‘Chocoholic’ prefers shade and organic-rich, moist soil conditions. Do not allow it to dry out or leaf edges will brown. It will tolerate drought once established but it appearance will be greatly diminished. All plant parts of it are poisonous!
