Known as the rose trillium because of its sweet scent, it has nodding flowers with darling recurving petals and prominent, curving anthers. Its April/May flowers are sometimes held above the foliage, sometimes secreted below. The gradation of pink, darker toward the petal tips is an additional exquisite detail. A southeastern U.S. native.
