This is a 2012 Skotak release. A tissue culture mutation of an Aechmea fasciata hybrid that seems to stay in a permanent seedling stage. The leaves are soft and spineless, discolor, green on top and burgundy below and grow on a continuously lengthening stalk. It may in time resemble a Dracaena as the older leave fall away and reveal a trunk-like stem. An oddity, but still it is an attractive plant and nice for a limited space garden. Does well in shade and would likely do well in a terrarium.
