A cultivar of Goudaea ospinae gruberi x Vriesea Plantation Pride), formerly Vriesea.A beautiful plant with a checkered past. We started with two of these plants, select clones which came from a breeder in Brazil, and flowered the first a couple of years back. I had just made the photo when the plant was stolen from one of our restricted greenhouses. We put out a notice to growers and collectors to keep an eye out for it, but it never reappeared. Too bad. Luckily we had another, the only other, and finally named and propagated it to several. The plant has glossy, slightly tessellated foliage in a 24in rosette, with a branched, orange-tinted yellow inflorescence.
