Marantaare a great choice to add to your Prayer Plant collection. Prayer plant is a common term that refers to members of genusMaranta, to which genusCalatheais closely-related.In reality, both are considered to be prayer plants. Thename comes from thetendency of plants in this family to droop, or pray at night. Maranta prefer MEDIUM -BRIGHT INDIRECT LIGHT and are not suited to intense, direct sun.
LOCATION AND LIGHT:
Place your Maranta plant near a window where it will receive indirect sunlight. Never set a Maranta plant in direct sunlight, as the plants leaves will scorch or fade in colour intensity.
WATER:
Waterevery 12 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out halfway down between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light.
Marantas can be sensitive to hard tap water. Try using filtered water or filling your watering can the night before to allow tap water to diffuse.
