The white speckled pattern on this plants leaves are the result of genetic mutation affecting chlorophyll production in its cells. Plants with more variegation (white patches) may require more sunlight to compensate for their lack of chlorophyll, but Monstera standleyana is just as easy to care for as any of its relatives!
