Commonly known as the Horse Crippler Cactus, Echinocactus Texensis is a hardy, low-growing cactus with a flattened, dome-shaped body and thick ribs lined with stout spines.

Native to the arid regions of Texas and northern Mexico, it thrives in full sun to bright, indirect light and is extremely drought-tolerant. Water deeply but infrequently only when the soil is completely dry and reduce watering in the winter months.

A well-draining cactus mix is essential to prevent root rot. Slow-growing and tough, this cactus is well-suited for outdoor rock gardens or sunny indoor spots, and comes in a durable plastic pot for easy placement.
